Commercial building permits showed an increase for August 2016 compared to the same month last year. A new Tim Horton’s Restaurant at 110, 6802 50 Avenue, with a permit value of $450,000, contributed to this increase.

The Red Deer Construction Association has been honored for the past 12 years to present scholarship awards to local apprentices.
This year we had 30 entries submitted with 22 individuals being awarded scholarships to help towards their ongoing schooling. The scholarship committee of the RDCA awarded two $1,000 awards, five $750 awards and fifteen $500 awards.
